Real Reel Impact
Impact production · campaigns beyond the screen
2026 cohort announced
What it is
Real Reel Impact (RRI) supports African documentary filmmakers and impact practitioners to develop and implement meaningful impact campaigns around their films. Through funding, mentorship, convening and knowledge sharing, RRI helps film teams connect their stories with audiences, communities, institutions and decision-makers.
A documentary’s impact does not have to end when the credits roll. Across Africa, filmmakers are telling stories about issues that matter to their communities. But reaching the people who need to see them, creating meaningful engagement, and building relationships that contribute to change requires more than the film itself.
